Role Overview

The Sr. Data Scientist / Data Scientist Executive will be responsible for building analytics-led, AI-driven solutions for internal stakeholders (Senior Management, Business, Marketing, Product) and external customers (Banks, MSMEs, and Retail borrowers).

This role involves working on predictive modelling, machine learning, computer vision, NLP, and LLMbased solutions, especially for unstructured data such as documents and images, with real-world deployment in production environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Analytics & Machine Learning

• Analyse large volumes of structured and unstructured data to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
• Design, build, validate, and deploy predictive models, ML algorithms, and statistical models.
• Develop and productionize models such as Logistic Regression, Random Forest, XGBoost, deep learning models, etc.
• Conduct EDA, feature engineering, and performance evaluation using appropriate metrics.

Computer Vision & Document AI

• Build and deploy computer vision solutions including object detection, image classification, OCR, and segmentation.
• Develop Document AI pipelines for extracting insights from scanned documents, PDFs, and images.
• Integrate OCR engines (Tesseract, PaddleOCR, etc.) with ML and LLM pipelines.

NLP & LLM

• Design and fine-tune LLM-based pipelines for information extraction, document summarization, chatbots, and reasoning systems.
• Work with Hugging Face Transformers, LangChain, GPT/LLaMA-based models, and prompt engineering.
• Implement RAG pipelines and multi-modal AI solutions where applicable.

Collaboration & Business Impact:

• Work closely with engineering, product, business, marketing, and leadership teams to translate business problems into data science solutions.
• Proactively suggest innovative analytical approaches to improve decision-making and operational efficiency.
• Present insights, findings, and model outcomes effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred (Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent).

Technical Skills (Mandatory):

• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Hands-on experience in machine learning model development and deployment (at least one production-grade ML solution).
• Solid understanding of machine learning fundamentals, probability, statistics, and linear algebra.
• Experience with ML/DL frameworks: scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow.
• Experience with data visualization libraries and multidimensional data analysis.
• Experience with web scraping and data extraction from multiple data sources.

Good to Have:

• Experience in credit risk modeling, credit scoring, fraud detection, or income estimation.
• Exposure to PySpark, Spark, AWS (EC2, SageMaker) or other cloud platforms (GCP/Azure).
• Experience with MLops tools and real-world model deployment.
• Familiarity with computer vision frameworks (YOLO, Detectron2, MMDetection).
• Experience with multi-modal AI systems and CV + LLM integrations.
